Eugene R. Lorson, 81, of Williamsport, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1932, in Collomsville, he was a son of the late Anthony P. and Catherine G. (Miller) Lorson. Gene married Maxine B. Mahonski in Holy Rosary Church on June 21, 1952.
He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1950. Gene worked at Litton Industries, M.W. Kelloggs Power Piping and Avco. He was also a tool maker for 22 years, retiring from Norcen Industries in 1994. After retirement, he worked at Lycoming County Court House as a Jury, Tipstave.

Gene was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, sang in the choir, was active in the Men's Church Council and taught Sunday school for 18 years at the former Ascension Catholic Church. He was a semi-pro baseball player for Avco and played on several teams in the West Branch Baseball League. Gene was an avid deer and turkey hunter, enjoyed gardening, and was a fan of the Eagles and Phillies.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Maxine, are two daughters, Christine M. Dannemann (Edward) of Muncy and Catherine L. Cupp (Daniel W.) of York; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven brothers, John, LaVerne, Francis, Andy and Lenny Lorson, all of Bastress, Don Lorson of Woodstock, Ga., and Jerry Lorson of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Josephine Clark of Bastress, Eileen Audet and Patricia Williams, both of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah A. and Douglas Dickey; and a brother, Robert Lorson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Fourth and Walnut streets, Williamsport. Burial will be held at Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
