Betty J. Sarama, 83, of 77 Sarama Lane, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, after a long battle with several illnesses, including cancer, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, John P. Sarama, in 1993.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Betty enjoyed flea marketing, camping, Penn's Cave, yard sales and shopping at Kmart with her husband. She retired from Sylvania in Montoursville after many years of service and was a dedicated housewife after retirement.
Born June 24, 1929, in Shamokin, she was the daughter of Walter and Helen Raker.
Surviving are a son, Walter L., a daughter, Connie A. Hakes and a brother, Kenneth (Kathleen) Raker, all of Williamsport; grandchildren, Travis and Joshua Hakes, and Johnathan Sarama; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Memphis and Ben Hakes.
Betty requested the service to be private for family and close friends only. It will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide the flowers.
