Mildred "Pauline" Hartman, 82, of Preserve Road, Danville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born in Columbia County on May 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Emma (Young) Whitmoyer.
On Feb. 17, 1947, she married Robert E. Hartman and they had celebrated 29 years of marriage together until his death on Jan. 25, 1977.
Mildred attended the Fairview Church of the Nazarene in Turbotville. She worked as a seamstress, and retired from Milco Industries, of Bloomsburg. She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables that she grew. She had many cats that she took care of throughout the years, but Mildred especially loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Doris Hartman Sr., Muncy Valley, Gale and Joan Hartman, Hughesville, Wayne Hartman, Danville, Robert and Carol Hartman, Mohrsville, Pa.; a daughter, Ellen Sloss, Turbotville; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Harold Whitmoyer; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hartman Guisewhite; seven sisters; three brothers; and a son-in-law, Frank Sloss.
Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marjorie B. Fisk of Fairview Church of the Nazarene, Turbotville, officiating. Burial will follow in the Millville Cemetery.
