David Isiah Jett, 21, of 673 Ames Place, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $287 from his grandmother's purse while visiting her apartment on Dec. 31, city police said.
Already on probation for theft, Jett was arraigned last week before District Judge James Carn and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $8,500 bail.
The victim in the case is Maryann Jett, of 739 Grace St., police said.
