Pennsylvania College of Technology student Zachary John Lloyd, 22, of Gaithersburg, Md., faces charges for allegedly attacking another Penn College student, Cara Shubeck, in a dorm on Feb. 6, according to Penn College police.
Charged with simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness, Lloyd allegedly grabbed the woman around her neck from behind and began choking her, police said. The victim was treated at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for neck and shoulder pain, police said.
Following his arraignment that night before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Lloyd was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu $5,000 bail.
