Lester S. Morse, 89, of Loyalsock Township, died on Feb. 12, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Smoke Run, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Dawson Morse.
Lester retired from Darling Valve and had also worked at Boise Cascade, the Presbyterian Home and Sycamore Manor. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army where he received a purple heart. He was a member of East End Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his daily walk.
He was preceded by his first wife, the former Hallie Susanne Matthew; his second wife, the former Florence Hall Brion; three sisters, Rose Ballcher, Elizabeth Shimchock and Fay Saupe; and four brothers, Roy, Thomas, Richard and Charles Morse.
Surviving are children, Darla (Keith) Emig of Corning, N.Y., Raenell Mull of Hughesville, Bonnie Reynolds of Montoursville and Darwin (Kathy Funk) Morse of Williamsport; three stepchildren; two sisters, Carol Hartfield of Turlock, Calif., and Jean Yarger of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Kirsten, Nathan, Nicole and Hallie; nine stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Isaac, Amber and Braylon; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Chaplain David K. Fishel officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming Co. Honor Guard.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
