Edward Willard Shink, 81, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Mr. Shink was born the son of Willard and Velma Shink on Oct. 15, 1931, in Hepburn Township, Pa. He served faithfully in the U.S. Air Force for over 22 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Susanne "Susie" Shink, his parents, and in-laws, Lair and Ruth Hinston, and sister-in-law, Eileen Hinston.
Mr. Shink, beloved husband, father and grandfather, is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sarah Hinston Shink, children, Kathi Baker and her husband, John, and Franklin Shink, grandson, Christopher Baker and his wife, LaTisha, his brothers, Harold Shink and his wife, Jean, and David Shink and his wife, Roxanne, his brothers-in-law, George Hinston, Richard Hinston and his wife, Barbara, Jim Hinston and his wife, Anne, sister-in-law, Nancy Beattie and her husband, Frank, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Garden of Memories, Panama City, Fla., with Chaplain Craig Brannon of Emerald Coast Hospice officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Emerald Coast, 2935 S. Highway 77, Lynn Haven, FL 32444.
