Bertha M. Edwards, 88, of the Presbyterian Home, Williamsport, and formerly of Edwards Road, Trout Run, Cogan House Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born April 5, 1924, in Salladasburg, she was a daughter of the late Ezra and Mabel (Wurster) Paulhamus.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James E. Edwards, on March 8, 1999 and four brothers, Charles, Floyd, Dale, and Elmer "Pete" Paulhamus.
Bertha was a homemaker, taking care of her family and their family farm. She was a member Steam Valley Bible Church and she enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, making photo albums, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois M. Wurster (Marvin) of Linden and Linda L. Gohl of Apalachin, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Steven and Eric Wurster and Jeremy and Justin Gohl; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois I. Ulmer (Rev. Charles) of North Canton, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Steam Valley Bible Church, 570 Route 184 Highway, Cogan House Township, Trout Run, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Steam Valley Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Bertha's name be made to Steam Valley Bible Church, 570 Route 184 Highway, Trout Run, PA 17771 or The Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
