Julie Reppert has been named the Lifestyle-Education editor at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
She replaces Dana Borick Brigandi, who recently was named the assistant director of college relations at Lycoming College.
Reppert, of Williamsport, is a native of Lebanon. She began at the Sun-Gazette in July 2011 as a general news assignment reporter who also covered the police and fire beat. She was named assistant Lifestyle editor in January 2012.
As Lifestyle-Education editor, she will be responsible for the Sunday Lifestyle section, the Monday Education section, daily Lifestyle pages and special publications, including Senior Sun.
She will continue to work with Education reporter Joseph Stender, who writes stories for the Monday section, along with covering educational news in the community and local school district board meetings.
Reppert graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School in 1999. She received three associate degrees in communications and a bachelor's degree in management from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2006.
A community volunteer, Reppert has been active with the American Cancer Society as a Relay For Life team captain, public relations volunteer on the planning committee for the Relay For Life of Williamsport and a member of the Volunteer Leadership Council for the ACS.
She is a member of Penn College's One College Avenue advisory committee, is the Sun-Gazette's United Way in-house campaign manager, and volunteers and participates in many nonprofit and local organizations.
She also is vice president for the Susquehanna Valley Derby Vixens, a local roller derby league.
