Arthur M. Benevides Jr., 62, of 236 Back St., Montoursville, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He and his wife, the former Kathryn Earnst, were married on Dec. 12, 2005.
Arthur was born on Jan. 24, 1951, in E. Falmouth, Mass., and was the son of Arthur and Edith Teixeira Benevides.
He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard with 21 years of service. He is a member of Light and Life Chapel and American Legion Post 104.

Arthur is survived by one son, Joshua (Gwen) Benevides; one daughter, Monica (Derek) Tatman; one brother; two sisters; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Life and Light Chapel with Rev. J.J. Shimko officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
