Elizabeth "Betty" J. Kuhns, 84, of Plunketts Creek Township, was welcomed into heaven by her Savior on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, with her granddaughter by her side, at ManorCare Health Services, North.
She was born Aug. 10, 1928 in Mifflintown, Pa., a daughter of Leon P. and Mildred Lauver Keiser.
Betty was a member of the Marble Collectors Society of America, enjoyed flowers, gardening, especially her pumpkins, birds and antiques. She loved living along the Loyalsock Creek even when it destroyed her home. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her great-granddaughter, Emerson.
She is survived by her husband, William J., with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on Nov. 21; a daughter, Sharon K. (Stephen) Bender of Montoursville; two brothers, Richard L. Keiser of Warminster, Pa., and William P. Keiser of Barbours; a granddaughter, Michelle L. (Jason) Metzger; and three great-grandchildren, Emerson Rane, Kaden and McKenzie.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Connie A. Waugh officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 3:30 to 4 p.m.
