Timothy S. Berger, 50, of Montgomery, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Muncy Valley Hospital Emergency Room.
Born May 23, 1962, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Stephen R. Sr. and Susan L. Phillips Berger. He and his wife, the former Jada R. Reber, celebrated 31 years of marriage on Aug. 22, 2012.
Tim served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 14 years as a both a medic and an infantryman in the Infantry Division. He was currently employed with Susquehanna Health for over 16 years and taught various medical courses at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Tim was very dedicated to the medical field, and enjoyed helping others advance in the profession as well.
He was an avid Flyers fan who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson. Tim looked forward to his annual family reunion, Timmytowne, which he hosted for many years. This was a special time for friends and family to gather together and become prey for Tim's prodding sense of humor.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Samantha R. Berger, Sabrina R. Berger and Brittany L. Berger, all of Montgomery; a son, Kenneth L. Berger of Montgomery; three brothers, Stephen R. Berger Jr. of Williamsport, Christopher D. Berger of Aston and Gary K. Weigel of Muncy; a grandson, Damian L. Beardsley; his biological father, Charles E. Rhen of Linden; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Clinton Baptist Church, 60 Warren Ave, Montgomery, with Pastor David Jacobs officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund at www.tsbergermemorial.com, with proceeds to benefit his daughter's college fund.
