Boy Scouts to hold STEM fair

January 27, 2013
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Susquehanna Council of Boy Scouts of America will hold "The Great Science Fair" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lycoming and Susquehanna Malls.

This year's theme is highlighting the STEM-Based Nova Awards program and will feature displays about geocaching, robotics, welding, canoeing and electronics.

These topics and more drive the Boy Scouts of America's Nova Awards program, its STEM-related initiative.

The program, launched in June, brings science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life for young people.

Cub Scouts ages 8 and older, Boy Scouts and Venturers may earn the Nova awards and more advanced Supernova awards.
