Dorothy Sommers, 79, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
She was born in Limestone Township on Feb. 8, 1933, the daughter of Eugene and Lena Winter Moore.
Dorothy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was very active in several church organizations and church functions.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra K. Miller; sons, Eugene C Sommers, Timothy L. (Jeannie) Sommers, Sidney P. (Beverly) Sommers and John W. Sommers.
She is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Carl (Kathryn) Moore, Ann Baier, Jerry (Jim) Hamm, Leonard (Sylvia) Moore and Mary Wrench. Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers, Bernard and Eugene and by a sister, Margaret (Sis) Darling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. and burial will be in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gatehouse C/O Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport or to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Pa. Crouse Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
