Harold D. Houseknecht

Harold D. Houseknecht, 84, of 7523 Rose Valley Road, Trout Run, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 11, 1928, in Williamsport, a son of Harold D. and Clara Hackling Houseknecht.

Harold was a Korean War Air Force veteran and retired from Market Forge, where he was an engineer. He was a member of the Rose Valley United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Chester D. and Alvin A.

Harold is survived by his wife, the former Virginia M. Freezer, with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage on Oct. 23; four daughters, Diane L. Dincher of Cogan Station, Connie L. (Ronald) Hillegas of Fairhope, Pa., Karen L. Gothel of Kennewick, Wash., and Danna L. Houseknecht of Loyalsock Township; three brothers, Charles F. (Patricia) of Columbia Crossroads, Robert W. of Troy and David P. (Paula) of Florida; two sisters, Jan Bittner of Trout Run and Susan (Bruce) Toothacher of Blossburg; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.

The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Marie E. Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, Jan. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.
