Lillian Beverly Burkholder

Lillian Beverly Burkholder, 81, of 411 Howard St., Williamsport, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Rose View Center, Williamsport.

Born Feb. 18, 1931, in Williamsport, Lillian was a daughter of the late Ralph Folmer Sr. and Minnie Jessie (Herr) Folmer. In 1953, she married her second husband, William Updegraff, who preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1974.

For a short time she worked at the former Weldon's Pajama Factory. She spent the remainder of her life as a homemaker and took great joy in taking care of her family.

Lillian was an avid Christian.

She was very fond of spending time with her grandchildren. Lillian also loved taking pictures, sewing and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are four daughters, Marsha (Anthony S.) Minnella of South Williamsport, Ida Winder Clayton of Milton, formerly of Muncy, Christine Crompton and Bonnie Kane, both of Williamsport; one brother, William Strickland; two sisters, Janet Bullock and Betty L. Bloomer, both of Williamsport; one daughter-in-law, Annabelle Rearick of Linden; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and second husband, she was predeceased by a first husband, William C. Rearick and a third husband, Leroy H. Burkholder; two sons, Ralph Joseph Rearick and Larry Curtis Rearick; two daughters, Minnie Jessie Rearick and Ella Marie Updegraff; two brothers, Alfred Folmer and Ralph Folmer Jr.; one sister, Althea Marion Quiggel; one granddaughter, Kendra R. Bickle; and three sons-in-law, William Thomas Clayton, Robert E. Crompton III and Bruce E. Kane.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Savits, pastor of Newberry Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. James Bixler, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Williamsport.

Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
