On Wednesday, the Williamsport Area High School Key Club will sponsor a spaghetti dinner fundraiser with part of the proceeds going to ACES (Advancing Communities by Educating and Serving) North America, a nonprofit group that provides charitable resources and assistance to impoverished areas of the world.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Genetti Hotel's Grand Ballroom and take-outs will be offered at the main entrance. Walk-ins are welcome or tickets may be bought at R.E. Smith Co., 607 Cemetery St.
Also, ACES has announced that nine Cabon School graduates will attend universities in the Dominican Republic, thanks to the financial support of ACES North America donors. The next "voluntour" service trip will leave tomorrow and volunteers will provide medical and food outreaches, greenhouse repair and construction, flood relief, school enhancement projects, sewing classes and business plan development.
The following officers were elected during the Jan. 6 board meeting: Linell Stabler, president; Karen Lehman, first vice president; Marty McCormick, second vice president; and Wendy McCormick, secretary-treasurer.
