Williamsport won its first game at the Josh Palmer Fund Elmira Holiday Inn Classic Thursday in Elmira, NY, 53-51 over Lely from Naples, Fla. Two Isaiah Washington free throws late in the fourth quarter followed a Herb Stelly basket and gave Williamsport its first lead since the start of the second half.
Jahad Thomas led Williamsport with 21 points, while Washington scored 19.
The Millionaires are in the 8-team National division and play Elmira tonight at 7:45.
Mike Pastore scored 14 points and Roger Wilson added 10 rebounds as Loyalsock advanced to the State College final with a 68-38 victory over Burrell.
St. John Neumann walloped Warrior Run, 79-44. Neumann jumped out to an early 27- 06 lead in the first quarter, and was able to hold on throughout the game. Aloze Johnson led the Knights with 21 points.
In girls basketball, Mariah Burguson scored 17 points and Kaitlyn Garverick 14 as North Penn advanced to its own tournament final, 61-31 over Canton. Blairsville breezed past Liberty in the first game there, 80-15.
Tay Parker's 15 points led Warrior Run over Milton, 51-36, at the Warrior Run Tournament. In the other game, Muncy won the other game, 54-26, behind 19 points from Jordan Jones and 16 from Brianna McLaughlin.
Addie Jordan scored five points in Sullivan County's 54-18 loss to undefeated Southern Columbia.
In wrestling, Lewisburg finished second at the Boiling Springs Invitational behind individual titles from Brian Friery (106), Max Reed (160), Nick Bernstein (170), and Brandon Smith (220).
