What a terrible tragedy in Newport! Enough is enough! After mourning the loss of 20 innocent little kids, we as a nation have to say enough is enough! How many more innocent children, mall patrons, movie goers, restaurants guests and office workers have to die before peace loving Americans take a stand.
The images of grieving parents and families cannot leave us unmoved. Can you honestly tell them that their childrens senseless death is the price we have to pay so that gun fanatics can keep us hostage with the worlds laxest gun legislation? Can you stand unmoved at their funerals and say with a straight face that the deaths of 20 innocent children matter less than gun nuts desire to be able to buy any handgun they want? Can any American with any decency tell the community of Newtown that the loss of their towns most precious gift their children is the price we pay to allow guns to be bought at gun shows ?
Peace loving Americans have to say enough is enough. If you want to buy a shotgun for hunting purposes, God bless you. If you want to purchase a handgun with a six shot magazine for personal safety that is OK by me. But today, America has to say no more multiple gun purchases in cash. No more allowing gun clips of 30, 50 or 100 bullets. No more military quality laser sights and pistol grips.
Our gun culture is not just out of control. We as Americans have a right to bear arms. We also have other rights guaranteed by our Constitution such as free speech, assembly, trial by jury, protection from cruel and unusual punishment, the right to vote, the right to be free in your house from troops being quartered there, being able to drink alcohol, we have the right to sue our government for redress of grievances. But all of these rights have logical limitations, most of which have been accepted over time as totally and completely reasonable.
Enough is enough. If you are an American that truly loves peace, take a stand today and lets make America a safer place with and less guns in the hands of criminals and the insane.
