JERSEY SHORE - Connie Hyatt wanted to offer an affordable, unique shopping experience for people in central Pennsylvania.
That's a big reason she opened up Blingz General Store in November.
"We don't have trendy things you can find out there in other places," she said. "Things like purses, handbags, I try to keep them unique."

Located at 226 Allegheny St., the store also sells jewelry, watches, belts, body lotion, scarves, and other women's accessories.
"Scarves are huge right now," she said. "They go with any wardrobes. You can dress up or dress down with a scarf."
Hyatt, a native Texan, moved to the area from the Lone Star State to work in the insurance industry.

The store, she said, is almost a hobby for her.
So far, she loves the town and the location for her business.
"We are here to stay," she said. "I can't say enough about the people of Jersey Shore."
She said everyone has made her move north enjoyable, and the business community has been welcoming.
She is hoping to draw on a customer base that extends beyond Jersey Shore to Williamsport and Lock Haven.
So far, business has been good.
"Getting the word out has been kind of hard because I am building two businesses," she said.
Hyatt said customers will be surprised at the affordable prices, including the jewelry.
She said she likes selling the sort of merchandise she offers.
"I always admired a woman who was well-dressed, well-accessorized," she said. "I found it made me feel a lot more comfortable."
Customers can place orders for certain merchandise.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
Appointments are also welcome.
