Geraldine Grove Loss

Geraldine Grove Loss, 88, formerly of Williamsport, died peacefully on Friday morning, Dec. 7, 2012, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, Pa., where she had been a resident since 2006.

She was born June 24, 1924, in Linden, Pa., the first daughter of Watson E. and Carrie B. Grove.

Gerry spent most of her professional career as an elementary school teacher in the Williamsport Area School District. Following her time in teaching, she supported her husband in United Methodist ministry. They served parishes in Loganton, Osceola Mills and South Williamsport, Pa.

Gerry is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth D. Loss of Lewisburg; son Douglas R. Loss of Columbia, Md.; daughters, Jo A. Roberts of Alexandria, Va., Susan D. Laidacker of Danville, Pa., and Karen E. Loss of McLean, Va. She was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Timothy A. Fargus of Baltimore, Md., Jonathan S. Laidacker of Philadelphia, Pa., Laura D. Moore of Watsontown, Pa., and Stefanos Loss of South Williamsport, Pa.

A memorial service will be held at Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Road, Williamsport, Pa., on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.
