Max L. Baker

Max L. Baker, 73, of Nisbet, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.

Max and his wife, the former Gerrie Spiegel, were married for 17 years.

Born Dec. 18, 1938, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Merrill J. and Mildred C. Hursh Baker.

Max was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Army for two years and the Navy for 28 years. He was active in the Susquehanna NERA, and was a member of VFW Post 7863 in DuBoistown and American Legion Post 1.

Max worked for PA Wirerope, and retired from Allied Grumman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially in Canada.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Millie (Anthony) Mitchell of Hughesville; a stepdaughter, Sally Weaver of Nisbet; two brothers, Bruce N. (Gail) Baker of Muncy Valley and Gene M. (Emma) Baker of New Columbia; five sisters, Barbara A. Baker of Montgomery, Lena (Russell) Bickel of Williamsport, Marjorie L. Mollenkopf of Williamsport, Linda M. (Tom) Crosley of Williamsport and Carmen J. Baker of Williamsport; three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild, seven stepgreat-grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews and five step nieces and nephews.

Max was predeceased by stepdaughter, Tina L. Brown and a brother, Johnny Baker.

In keeping with Max's wishes there will be no services.
