Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A senior in Pennsylvania College of Technology's four-year accounting major has been awarded one of two $1,000 scholarships from the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants.

Steven W. Garner, of Lock Haven, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants, a professional organization that provides education, information, tools and resources to more than 1,600 members across the commonwealth.

To be eligible for one of the PSPA scholarships, a student must be enrolled full time as an accounting major at a Pennsylvania college or university, with a minimum of 60 credit hours and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.

Also considered among criteria are a student's leadership potential and extracurricular activities. Garner is a student ambassador for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves as vice president of both the Penn College Accounting Society and the Penn College Student-Managed Investment Fund.
