I heard Saturday was the day we should all try to go out and shop at our local small businesses. I just wanted to take the time to send out a big thank you to Richard Buttorff of Buttorff's Hardware in Jersey Shore. My husband was cleaning our stove pipe on our wood stove, and after close inspection he noticed it had rust holes and was unsafe to put back together and use. He called Richard at his home, on Thanksgiving afternoon, and told him of the problem. He left his family, to go to his store and get my husband the pipe he needed. Now if this wasn't wonderful enough, after getting the pipe home my husband realized he asked for the wrong size. Once again he called Richard at his home, and once again he went to his store to help my family. We are now warm and safe thanks to his kindness and selfless acts on this Thanksgiving day. If more small business owners treated their customers like friends and family than I'm sure more people would shop at them more often, even if the products cost a little more.
