During this holiday season, we give thanks for the time we were blessed enough to spend with Mrs. Hazel G. Meeker, 84, of Mansfield, Pa., who passed away into the hands of the Lord on Nov. 26, 2012, from The Green Home in Wellsboro.
Mrs. Meeker was born on Nov. 13, 1928, in Roseville, Pa., to Mr. Spencer Cleveland and Mrs. Florance (Canfield) Cleveland. A longtime resident of Mansfield, Pa., Mrs. Meeker spent her working years at C & K Laundry and Mansfield University before retiring to devote more time to the people and activities she loved. She was a cherished daughter, wife, mother and sister who loved sewing and dancing. Mrs. Meeker is fondly remembered by her family and friends for her giving heart, quick wit and spirited soul.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Colegrove and companion, Frank Sherant, of Arnot; two grandchildren, Lisa (Chris) Parker of Arnot and Dana (Julie) Colegrove of Fairfax, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Kaela Parker, Dereck and Nick Seeley; a sister, Jessie Williams of Reading; her companion, Robert Rees of Horseheads, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Meeker of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In Heaven Mrs. Meeker joins her beloved husband, Donald; her son, Harland Meeker; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn (Lester) Merriam and Glady (Joe) Thomas; and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Ivan Meeker and Eldon (Ella) Meeker.
Private family services officiated by Pastor Debbie Button will be held at Zwicharowski Funeral Home in Blossburg. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy.
