Williamsport has entered into the holiday season with the downtown parade including the Santa Claus Village and Brandon Park's Festival of Lights. The lights in the park are for everybody to enjoy.
Its is unfortunate that once again there is a lot of vandalism occurring in Brandon Park. It is very expensive to have to keep replacing the Christmas Light bulbs. Once again, kids are taking the light bulbs out of the sockets and smashing them all over.
The schools are all going too be contacted about this problem and any child that is caught taking the bulbs out and breaking them will be held responsible and suffer the consequences.
The citizens have all been alerted to the problem and will be forming watch groups that will be watching the park at all different hours and if they catch any person or persons vandalizing the park they will be held responsible for the damage that they cause. The police will be watching also. Please report to the authorities any vandalism that you have witness to.
Williamsport is proud of all the Christmas decorations that makes our city festive. I would hope that parents talk to their children about the lights in Brandon Park and that they should respect the park so everybody can enjoy the beautiful lights this holiday.
