Daniel L. Davis, of Elmira, N.Y., 63, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.
Dan was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Williamsport, Pa., the son of the late Edwin and June (Huzey) Davis.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lyle and Betty Edwards. Dan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy Edwards Davis; son, Timothy D. Davis, Elmira; daughter, Kristine L. Hall, Elmira; grandchildren, Marley, Johnathan, Davis, and Annabella Hall; stepgranddaughters, Sandy Isakov and Elizabeth Hall with her daughter Isabella; brothers, John and Steve; sisters, Linda and Avalyn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Connie Edwards, Dave Edwards, Fred and Susan Edwards; along with several nieces and nephews.

Dan worked for Mansfield University for 30 years, retiring as the Director of Printing Services. An avid runner, he had run in the Boston, New York, Chicago, Walt Disney World and the Wine Glass Marathons. Dan enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 350 in Blossburg, Pa. Dan's passion was his family - his children and grandchildren defined him; he was the one his family counted on when anything was needed. His final day on this earth started with the things he loved most - time spent with family and then going for a run. He will forever be loved and missed.
Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, N.Y., on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, from noon to 3 p.m. In support of his grandchildren's sports teams in West Elmira, those wishing may remember Dan with a donation to the West Elmira Recreational Fund, c/o Don Lechliter, 318 Hendy Ave., Elmira, NY 14905.
