Veteran’s Day

November 19, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

It's a shame that the media makes more "hoopla" over what is going on in Hollywood than when a veteran passes away. The only way anyone knows of a veteran's accomplishments is what the family knows so it can be printed in the obituary. The sacrifices of these young men and women and their families is something that can't be printed in a book or the newspaper.

My father is a combat wounded Korean War Veteran and my daughter is currently serving in Oman and son-in-law is now serving in Afghanistan both are with the United States Air Force and I am so very proud of them. If you know a veteran, shake his or her hand and tell them thank you.

For a moment let's forget about what the lawmakers are doing in Washington or Harrisburg and remember that we live in the United States of America, the Land Of The Free Because Of The Brave.
