Harold F. Blaker Sr., 81, of Montoursville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit. He was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Loyalsock Township, a son of Irvin C. and Henrietta J. Moore Blaker.
Harold retired from Twin Hills Oldsmobile Chrysler Plymouth as a sales consultant in 1991. Prior to this, he was employed by and then became co-owner of East End Lumber Company in Williamsport from 1958 to 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montoursville, and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army.
Harold was an avid trumpet player. He was a member of the local Musicians Union No. 761 for many years, managed and played for the Melotones and the Satellite Orchestras from 1955 to 1971. He was also in the first orchestra to play at the Cathedral in Scranton for ordinations in the 1960s. He was a former member of the Williamsport Chamber of Commerce, the Williamsport Country Club, the Loyalsock Fire Company Band, the Reno Post Band, and the VFW Band and Past President of the Susquehanna Contractors and the Montoursville Kiwanis Club.

On Feb. 24, 1952, Harold married the love of his life, Helene Lee Eck. This loving union lasted over 50 years, until Helene preceded him in death in 2004. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Irvin C. Blaker; his sister, Jean Thrailkill; and great-grandson, Ryan Jr.
Surviving are his three children, sons, Harold F. "Corky" (Kathi) Blaker Jr. of Muncy and Gary W. (Tanya) Blaker of Williamsport, and daughter, Barbara A. (Dan) Fura of State College; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Adam, Ryan, Krista, Ashley, Kenneth and Phillip; and eight great-grandchildren.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 100 Walnut St., Montoursville, with the Rev. John K. Manno as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit, 215 E. Water St., Muncy, PA 17756.
