WATERVILLE -A 42-year-old motorist was arrested Friday on assault and drunk driving-related charges that stem from crash in which a passenger suffered "traumatic brain injuries," state Trooper Daniel Kozak said.
Dustin Michael Hoffman, of 8011 Little Pine Creek Road, had a blood-alcohol content level of .24 when his pickup truck overturned several times in a field on Little Pine Creek Road, not far from his home, in Cummings Township about 9 p.m. on July 25, Kozak said.
As the truck rolled, both Hoffman and passenger Joshua J. Laubscher were ejected from the vehicle, Kozak said.
Laubscher suffered "numerous traumatic injuries, including traumatic brain injury, facial lacerations and multiple fractures," Kozak said in an affidavit.
Hoffman was arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on charges of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving under the influence of intoxicants, speeding and careless driving.
He was released on $30,000 bail.
