Last Saturday, I saw a fully mature Bald Eagle within the Williamsport city limits. I had just turned off Grampian Blvd. onto Market St. and at around Huffman something caught my eye above the street, and this huge bird swooped down to the street level right in front of my car. It went down the street for a short distance then turned right towards Cochran school. I was surprised.
I have seen Bald Eagles before, on the Loyalsock, Pine Creek, and at the Kinzua Dam. I never expected to see one in the city. I hope other residents got a chance to see this majestic bird.
