Ecumenical luncheon

United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. This Wednesday Dr. Jonathan Williamson, professior of political science at Lycoming College and a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church, will discuss the 2012 general election. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for. Our speaker for last week, Connie Phillips, will be rescheduled.

Devotion line

The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 322-5762. The devotionalist next week will be Sandy Grier who is a member of Church of the Savior Lutheran, 522 Grier St.
