SPCA to host annual ‘Sweet Temptations’

October 29, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will host a dessert tasting and silent auction 7 p.m. Friday at the Genetti Hotel. Registration begins at 6 p.m.

The event will feature desserts from several area dessert vendors.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample desserts while browsing the numerous silent auction items that will be available.

In addition to desserts and entertainment, the event will boast the area's only "Red Carpet Strolling Canines."

These are dogs and their owners who have successfully adopted their new family members from the shelter. Their story had a sad beginning but ended with fairy tale happiness.

While under SPCA care, the dogs were provided veterinary care, inoculations, medications, food, water, grooming, clean and sanitary housing and lots of love.

The happy ending to this story is that animals now have wonderful homes and will be happy to visit with guests on the night of the event.

There will be auction items to bid on just in time for the holiday season.

All proceeds benefit the Lycoming County SPCA and the thousands of animals received there.

The event will feature guest host Jim Hamill from WNEP-TV.

Advanced tickets are available now by calling the SPCA at 322-4646, by emailing lycospca@lycomingspca.org or by stopping by the shelter at 2805 Reach Road.

A limited number of tickets also will be available at the door on the night of the event.
