MILL HALL - The "Gram's Gang" team to benefit the Alzheimer's Association will hold a benefit fundraising concert at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 at Haywood's on the Green, featuring Mountain Minstrelsy.
Gram's Gang is a team named in memory of Helen "Betty" Eggler of Woolrich.
Team captain Susan Blesh recalled fun family times at her grandparents' house and how they changed after her grandfather died.
No longer were they simple social gatherings to "sit together, tell stories of the past, and rejoice in the memories of times together," she said. Instead, they became times when the family pulled together to help "Gram" who had Alzheimer's.
"Gram" passed away in 2009, and the family now gathers in her honor "to fight this awful disease," Blesh said.
