HUGHESVILLE - Not Just a Bean, 2 N. Main St., will host a Halloween Extravaganza fundraiser from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday.
The event will raise funds to generate down-payment donations for the coffee shop.
"We want to own the building before it's sold and we lose it. Our business is still doing so well," said store manager Nicole Cole. "Even though our coffee is fresh all day, ground and roasted on-site, our economy still makes it tough to get by."
Owners Julie and Matt Yeager "take their role as a community gathering place very seriously." Self-proclaimed "coffee evangelists," Not Just a Bean is enjoying the comradery their specialty coffee establishment is creating.
"As we strive to move forward financially, it is important to celebrate and have some fun, at the same time," said Matt Yeager, "So this year we are going all out."
The event will feature local comedian Jimmy Bodnar. Other tricks and treats include a best costume contest, door prizes with chocolate surprises and more.
