Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dougherty, Jersey Shore, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 1, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Gottschall at St. John Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore, where they are members.
Mrs. Dougherty, the former Mary Ellen Bubb, is a native of Jersey Shore. She is the daughter of the late Ethel and Robert Bubb Sr. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1958. She retired this year as a self-employed beautician.

Mr. Dougherty, a native of Jersey Shore, is the son of the late Iola and Howard Dougherty. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1958, from Lock Haven University in 1964 and from Penn State University in 1968. He retired in 2005 as a business owner and teacher.
They are the parents of three daughters, Carol M. Yost, Julie A Bowes and Pamela Wehler.
There are eight grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, an open house, hosted by their daughters, was held on Sept. 9 at St. John Lutheran Church.
