October 7, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

In anticipation of this year's election, the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society, 858 W. Fourth St., is presenting a small exhibition of presidential campaign buttons, ribbons and ephemeral materials of the 19th and 20th century in its lobby showcase.

The exhibition, arranged by work study student Nathan Danielson, a freshman at Lycoming College, will be in place for the month of October and early November and features campaign materials of William McKinley, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Harry S. Truman, Lyndon Johnson, James Garfield, Ulysses S. Grant, Grover Cleveland, William Henry Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, Richard Nixon and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Most of the items are from the permanent collections of the historical society, however, several are on loan from a private collector.

A fragile and rarely seen item from the permanent collections also will be on display.

It is a broadside reproducing the Second Inaugural Address of Thomas Jefferson, for his Presidential term beginning in 1805.
