LOCK HAVEN - Author Marjorie Maddox Hafer (pen name: Marjorie Maddox), professor of English and director of creative writing at Lock Haven University, has been asked to read in the East Wing-Rotunda of the Pennsylvania State Capitol building in Harrisburg.
The author of eight collections of poetry and two children's books, Maddox has been teaching at Lock Haven University since 1990. For more information about her work, see www.lhup.edu/mmad doxh/biography.htm.
The reading will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rotunda along North Third Stret.
The poets will be introduced by First Lady Susan Corbett. C-SPAN and other media will be in attendance.
Other poets in attendance include: Jerry Wemple, co-director of creative writing at Bloomsburg University; Nathaniel Gadsden, former Harrisburg poet laureate; Melanie Simms, former poet laureate of Perry County and David Bauman, radio personality, Northumberland poet and producer of Dad Poet Blog.
