The Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation recently announced the recipients of 2012 grant program.

Eighteen community organizations were awarded $15,000 in grants from the proceeds of the 2011 horse show. Locally, the Appalachian Horse Help and Rescue, 1201 Yerger Road, Linden, received a $500 grant for three new windows in the holding stalls.

According to AHHR volunteer Cynde Eister, the grant will go a long way in helping the organization help horses in need.

The Pennsylvania National Horse Show is one of the largest indoor horse shows in the U.S., hosting horses and competitors from across the country with 20,000 spectators attending from the Mid-Atlantic region.
