to hold meeting
JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Historical Society will have its first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Samuel Moss House, 200 S. Main St.
Dennis Buttorff, mayor of Jersey Shore, will present the program, "River Town of Tomorrow."

Salladasburg seniors
to meet Thursday
SALLADASBURG - The Salladasburg Chapter of the Lycoming County Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Salladasburg United Methodist Church.
The meeting will be followed by Dennis Buttorff, mayor of Jersey Shore, who will be the guest speaker. During the meeting, money will be collected for the catered dinner that will be held in October.
Hostesses for the meeting will be Richard and Ressie Harding and Esther Williams.
Bookshop to host
romance author
JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Bookshop will host Marchelle Wallace from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 22.
Wallace is an award-winning romance writer and will feature her books, "Redneck Heaven" and "Charmed and Enchanted." Wallace is the winner of the 2010 and 2011 National Novel Writing Month awards.
The event is free and open to the public.
Planners council
group to meet
The North Central Pennsylvania Estate Planners Council will meet from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at Susquehanna Regional Medical Center Tower.
James Lange, certified public accountant, attorney and author will present the program, which will focus on the Roth IRA and estate planning. A free copy of "The Roth Revolution" will be provided to attendees.
