Guild to hold next meeting
MIFFLINBURG - The susquehanna Valley Spinners and Weavers Guild will hold their next meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Daily Grind Cafe, 6404 Old Turnpike Road.
The program for this month is "Spinning with Silk." Guild member Julie Richie will present a short history of silk and demonstrate spinning the fiber.

Woman's Club to hold Constitution Day event
The Lycoming Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Williamsport will hold a Constitution Day luncheon at noon Tuesday at the Woman's Club, 414 Walnut St.
Guest speakers will be state Rep. Garth Everett, R-Muncy, and City Mayor Gabriel J. Campana.
Program to be held at library
HUGHESVILLE - The Black Hole Creek and Muncy Creek Watershed Associations will hold a free program for the public at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hughesville Library.
Gardener Reg Luaghner will do a presentation about "Natural Conditioners for Great Garden Soil."
The Muncy Creek Watershed Association will hold its monthly meeting after a program.

Roundtable group to hold next meeting
DALLAS, Pa. - The Wyoming Valley Civil War Roundtable will hold their next meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion, 730 Memorial Highway.
A program on the "North-South Skirmish Association" will be presented by David and Carol Scheff.
The event is open to the public, but there is a fee for non-members.
Heritage festival to host antique appraiser
TROY - The Bradford County Heritage Association and the Troy Rotary Club will host veteran Antique dealer and appraiser Philip Andrews from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Heritage Festival on Sept. 15 and 16.
Andrews will answer questions, provide opinions and appraise items that customers bring with them. There will be a minimal charge per item. No jewelry will be appraised.
Ballroom dance set at Divine Providence
The Susquehanna Ballroom Dance Society will sponsor a ballroom dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Divine Providence Auditorium.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Pre-recorded music will be provided for ballroom dancers of all levels. There is a fee to attend and the dress is semi-formal. Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the hospital's Cancer Center.

LAPS organization to hold fundraiser
The Lycoming Animal Protection Society, a no-kill cat shelter in South Williamsport, will hold a fundraising book sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at the First Ward Fire Co., Hastings Street, South Williamsport.
The sale will feature hardcover and paperback books for sale for $1 or less.
Garden club to hold picnic
JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Garden Club will hold their annual end of summer picnic on Sept. 20 at the home of Jean and Dan Hunter at Level Corners.
Dessert will be shared at the river lot of Barb and Skip Hall. The next regular meeting will be held in October at the First United Methodist Church. New members are welcome. Anyone interested in joining the club can contact Barb Hall at 326-4719.
