The DuBoistown Garden Club will host a special program about macrobiotic cooking by Melanie Brown Waxman at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Susquehanna Tower's third floor Walnut Room.
The event is free and open to the public and will follow a brief meeting by club President Rita Bower.
Brown Waxman is a well-known macrobiotic teacher who has worked with clients all over the world, including Boy George. Her studies in Oriental medicine began in the 1980s and she went on to specialize in feng shui, macrobiotic cooking, life coaching, writing, intuitive healing, health education and massage.

She is the mother of seven children and has lived in England, Portugal and the United States and now resides in Chester County where she maintains an active alternative health practice. She is the author of the "12 Upbeat Macrobiotic Cooklets" series, "Mr. Hoppity's Color Me Cookbook for Kids," "Bless the Baby," "Yummy Yummy in My Tummy," "Eat Me Now" and "The Little Carrot."
The consultant for the program is eLiz Snyder and the hostess chairwomen are Kitty Hofer and Irene Coolidge. The committee members are Susan Baker, Rebecca Hauser, Barbara Barnes, Nancy Hennigan, Linda Barnes, Mary Lou Missigman, Lisa Gonsalves, Jeanne Moulton, Julie Griffiths and Gerry Twigg.
