Conference to focus on early childhood education

MANSFIELD - The high school here will be the site of a conference that will focus on early childhood education.

On Oct. 8, Bradford Tioga Head Start will be hosting an Early Childhood Conference at Mansfield High School from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. featuring Lisa Murphy, "the ooey gooey lady!"

Murphy will talk about the importance of early experiences and play-based learning during her keynote address, "What if Today Was Their Only Day?" as well as during Session 1, "Ooey Gooey Sensory Play," and Session 2, "Making Time for Books and Stories."

The founder and CEO of Ooey Gooey Inc., Murphy presents more than 150 workshops each year to audiences across the country on various topics related to early childhood education, specifically how to be more play-based in the classroom using humor and real life anecdotes to reach and engage her audiences.

She has become known for her ability to link hands-on activities to educational standards and is dedicated to creating child centered, play-based early childhood environments.
