Strobel's to hold upcoming classes
Strobel's Sewing Center, 201 Basin St., will hold the following classes.
6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 13 - Rotary Cutting Basics with instructor, Ann Weaver. Learn how to properly use your rotary cutter, rulers and mat. Great for beginners.
6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17 - Dear Jane Quilters gather to piece a replica of the Jane A. Stickle quilt from 1863. Learn hand piecing and hand applique.
6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19, 26; Oct. 3, 10 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 20, 27, Oct. 4, 11 - Basic Quilting Skills with instructor Ann Weaver. Learn the basics of quilting.
6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 25 - Unfinished Project Night.

Recruitment event set in Old Lycoming
Adelphoi Village Foster and Adoptive Services will hold a recruitment and retention day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Old Lycoming Borough Building, 1951 Green Ave.
There will be refreshments and door prizes.
Bridge lessons to be offered
The Williamsport Woman's Club will offer free bridge lessons at 9 a.m. Sept. 11 at the club, 414 Walnut St.
Pamela Bentley will teach the classes.

Women's club to hold brunch
LEWISBURG - The Lewisburg Christian Women's Club will hold their September brunch at 8:45 am. Sept. 11 at the Country Cupboard Restaurant, Route 15.
The program will feature "Paw Prints on Your Heart," featuring Mostly Mutts with Cheryl Hill. Music selections will be presented by Rebekah Mitchell.
The guest speaker for the morning will be Sue Balsinger from South Park, presenting "Designs for Life."
There is a fee for the brunch.

Loyalsock Garden Club plans upcoming events
The Loyalsock Garden Club held a picnic recently at Riverfront Park. Hostesses were Erdeen White, Linda Davis, Joyce Davis and Ann Kuntz.
The group will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, where an auction also will be held.
Each member should bring an unwrapped "treasure" to be auctioned off to club members by Dottie White.
Proceeds will go toward the club's treasury.
Hostesses for the event are Alice Frye and Dorothy Lakotas, chairwomen, and the committee of Deb Taylor and Laurie Ade.
