Pine Street United Methodist Church has awarded five scholarships from its Music Scholarship Fund. Scholarships were given to:

Brian Mextorf, a graduate voice performance student at Westminster Choir College at Rider University, N.J., son of Richard and Katherine Mextorf of Grove City.

Rachael Grimes, a senior elementary education and music student at Mansfield University and daughter of William and Bertha Hall of Williamsport.

Torey Harding, a guitar student at Berklee College of Music, Boston, and son of Lonny and Jessie Harding of Allenwood.

Tess Marshall, a freshman music theatre major at Shenandoah University, Winchester, Va., and daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Marshall of Williamsport.

Adam Bielski, an engineering and music student at Penn State and son of Joseph and Susan Bielski of Williamsport.

These funds are made possible from an anonymous bequest to the church for the purpose of encouraging young member musicians.

Three awards also were made from the R. Andrew Lady Scholarship Fund to Nicholas Grimes, political science and German major at Lycoming College and son of William and Bertha Hall of Williamsport; Drew A. Tompkins, political science and economics major at Lycoming College and son of Drew Tompkins and Kimberly Tompkins of Montgomery; and Ashley Burger, freshman biology major at Lycoming College and daughter of Robert and Patricia Burger of Montoursville.

These awards are possible through a fund established in memory of R. Andrew Lady for members attending United Methodist colleges. The eight awards total $7,600.
