Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mutchler, Jersey Shore, and Punta Gorda, Fla., observed their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Jerome Diehl at the former St. John Evangelical United Brethren Church, now St. John United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mutchler, the former H. Joan Thompson, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Helen and H. LaRue Thompson. She received a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University in 1976 and a master's degree from Bloomsburg University in 1984. She retired from Williamsport Area School District as an elementary school teacher.

Mr. Mutchler, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Myrtle and Floyd A. Mutchler. He received a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University in 1959 and a master's degree from Penn State in 1970. He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired after 32 years of service from South Williamsport Area High School as a physical education teacher.
They are the parents of two sons, Craig, Jersey Shore, and Kurt, South Williamsport, and two daughters, Julee Carns, Boyertown, and Leslee Rundio, South Williamsport.
There are 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
