Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burgett observed their 50th wedding anniversary July 6, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. J.B. Young at Moreland Community Church.
Mrs. Burgett, the former Anita Kay Rupert, is the daughter of Laura Rupert and the late Harley Rupert. She graduated from Hughesville High School in 1962. She retired in 2006 from the State Correctional Institution, Muncy.

Mr. Burgett is the son of the late Elizabeth and Donald Burgett. He graduated from Hughesville High School in 1959. He retired in 2000 from PPL Electric.
They are the parents of a son, Gregory H., Elliottsburg, and a daughter, Jennifer A. Engle, Williamsport.
There are five grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, an open house is being held today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Moreland Community Church.
