The installation ceremony for the Rotary Club of Williamsport was recently held at the Genetti Hotel.
During the annual meeting, the 2012 Rotarian and Non Rotarian of the Year recipients were announced. Marshall Welch, a club member since 1958, was named the 2012 Rotarian of the Year. He was chosen for the honor because of his dedication to the club's many service projects. Mary Welch accepted the award for her husband.
Jeri Demel was named the Rotary Club of Williamsport Non Rotarian of the Year. Demel was honored for her many years of service to Rotary Club of Williamsport's Alan Demel Dinner of Champions.
According to club president, Ron Cimini, "the mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. We felt that Jeri and Marshall both reflect this mission with their devotion to the Williamsport community and the many projects that they are involved with."
