LAPORTE - Sullivan County Victim Services will hold its annual fundraising Victorian Tea from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in the Laporte Community Hall, 346 Muncy St.
The tea will offer sandwiches, cookies and other desserts and tea. Tables will be graced with floral arrangements featuring local flowers, reminiscent of Victorian hats. Guests can tour the Baldwin House and its gardens and outbuildings.
The historical society barn includes a number of displays of late-19th and early-20th century occupations' tools, toys and more.
The tea is a fundraiser for the Sullivan County Victim Services, a nonprofit agency formed in 1987 as a satellite of Wise Options of Williamsport. The agency operates on a budget of about $300,000 annually, mainly composed of grants which require a local matching component. The agency provides free and confidential supportive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes, as well as educational programs to try to eradicate domestic violence.
