All students who have moved into the Montoursville attendance area during the summer are requested to register before Aug. 24.
All pupils, elementary (K through 4), middle school (grades 5 through 8) and high school (grades 9 through 12) students should report to the District Office, 50 N. Arch St., or call 368-2491, ext. 1, for registration information.
Parents of new students are required to bring report cards, immunization records, birth certificate and all other available records from their former schools to help in making room assignments for the new term. Parents of new students will be required to present proof of residency, such as a copy of a monthly utility bill, rental or house agreement.
Parents who have moved into the area may register their children for kindergarten. To be eligible, in accordance with school board policy, your child must be 5 years old before Sept. 1. To be registered, it is necessary to present the child's original birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency.
Middle school students, along with a parent or a guardian, may pick up schedules from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 21. A middle school tour for fifth graders and new middle school students and their parents is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 27.
The high school will hold new student orientation from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 22. During that time, new students can come in for a tour and set up schedules.
Elementary classroom assignments can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 and 6 at Lyter and Loyalsock Valley Elementary schools; elementary classroom assignments will be mailed if they are not picked up.
Bus information will be available on the district's website under the "Parents" tab two weeks before school begins.
Montoursville Area schools are scheduled to begin the 2012-13 school year Aug. 28.
